What_is_it_in_the_perception_of_the_self_that_makes_records_so_vain is a a digital archive of pictures taken from the artists laptop. It’s an accumulation of an act of selfdocumentation– recording the perceiving, in this case digitally, of the self. The collection, consisting of 300+ images (and growing) is displayed as a desktop native work where the audience is invited to browse through its entirety. Whilst not being able to grasp all the images in a linear or narrative manner– as they are scattered around in the folder, the viewer, with each image they open, is presented with a honest portrayal of the artist. It depicts the mundane, the intimate or the otherwise forgotten moments.
